Bone Cancer Awareness Week 2009
20th - 27th June 2009
Bone Cancer Awareness Week 2009 proved to be another great success, resulting in coverage across all major media outlets, from local newspapers and TV to radio. Our message is 2009 highlighting the fact that survival rates in bone cancer have not improved for over 20 years reached a very wide audience throughout the UK and Ireland. We would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who agreed to share their experiences with TV, radio and newspapers, and for all of your efforts to make the week such a triumph.
In addition to the awareness raised through press coverage. In Awareness Week 2009 we launched Bake a Cake for Bone Cancer where our fantastic supporters held cake themed events of all kinds throughout the week, helping to raise even more awareness and an amazing £23,000 towards our work! This will become an annual event to be held during awareness week each year, so you won’t have to wait too long before you have a great excuse to get your oven gloves out again!
