•  Offa’s Dyke - a Fifty Year Hike – 23rd May to 3rd June 2010

Kevin Hudson recently turned 50, and to celebrate he decided to walk solo along Offa's Dyke to raise money for BCRT in memory of Ella Ashberry-Sharp, who died from osteosarcoma aged 11 in January 2009.

Offa’s Dyke is an ancient border between England and Wales which runs from the cliffs of Sedbury in the South to the picturesque holiday resort of Prestatyn in the North, a total distance of 177 miles to be completed in just 12 days.

Things did not begin well. By the end of the first day, 18 miles from Sedbury to Monmouth, in temperatures rising above 30 Celsius, large blisters had appeared on the soles of both feet, and these were to be Kevin's constant companions for the remainder of his journey.

The challenge progressively became as much mental as physical, but fortified each morning with a hearty English/Welsh breakfast (13 in a row must be some sort of record), and soothed by a combination of Ibuprofen, Compeed and beer, Kevin kept on going.

The mood was lightened on Day 8 by the arrival of fellow tutors Ged McCreesh and Steve Jay, who managed to turn the day into a 12-mile pub crawl, before leaving Kevin alone again on Day 9. By now three-quarters of the walk had been completed and the blisters were almost forgotten.

Despite the tiredness and pain, Kevin arrived in Prestatyn bang on time on 3 June, having completed 177 miles, or the equivalent of seven Mountain Marathons. He had climbed 29,872 feet, more than the height of Mount Everest, and consumed his own body weight in sausages and bacon. Needless to say, with the last drop of energy in his tank, this fine achievement was commemorated by a quick paddle in the sea, followed by a dash to the nearest bar for a well-deserved celebratory pint or five.

•  Hannah’s Charity Ball – 29th May 2010

The turnout was amazing with 275 people attending Hannah’s Charity Ball at the Hampshire Health and Tennis Club in Southampton. The ball was organised by friends of Hannah Chamberlain who passed away in November 2009 after a 3 year battle with osteosarcoma. They wanted to organise something to mark what would have been Hannah’s 21st birthday!
Georgina Callen, one of the organisers said “We were lucky to have some great raffle prizes and held an auction for the more sought after prizes, this alone raised £1910 with a signed picture of Pele selling for £400 and a stay in a Spanish apartment going for £700! All in all we have raised over £5,600 and are looking at holding an event every other year!”

•  Pound the Streets – March 2010

Following Callum Flynn’s bone cancer diagnosis, his family organised an event to raise money and awareness of the disease. The event named ‘Pound the Streets’ started on 8 March and looked to collect at least a pound from each home surrounding the Flynn household in Leigh, all in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust. It finished on Callum’s 15th birthday on the 12th of March; the one year anniversary of when Callum first discovered that he had osteosarcoma. Callum and his family felt that raising funds and awareness for the charity was a fantastic present for his birthday. Supporting Callum’s fantastic efforts was local MP, Andy Burnham, Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone in Coronation Street, and Ian Millward, Head Coach at Leigh Centurions Rugby League Club who presented Callum with a signed shirt from the club! Waterfields the Bakers, also supported the event by selling £ Cupcakes at their bakeries in Leigh in aid of BCRT. Many thanks to Waterfields for their great support An amazing £5,000 has been raised by Callum and his family and friends over the past month through various events, including the Huddersfield to Preston Cycle Ride; and Maria, Callum’s auntie already has plans for more events throughout the year!

•  Flynn family and friends’ bicycle ride – 28th February 2010

Following Callum Flynn’s bone cancer diagnosis on his 14th birthday last year, his family and friends gathered around him and organised a whole host of events in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Callum, along with a collection of employees from Mamas and Papas and friends, completed a bike ride from Huddersfield (the Mamas and Papas head office) to the Preston store where his aunt, Maria, works. The ride took place on Sunday February 28th, with the group being waved off by Alan Halsall, Tyrone from Coronation Street, at 7am and completing the challenge before 7pm that evening. Callum completed 40 miles of the 51 mile route, which is an amazing achievement just a year after being diagnosed.

To date, the event has raised a fantastic £1,040 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

•  Wild West Night – 27th February 2010

Friends of Alexander Albiston organised a Wild West Night to raise money for TCT and BCRT. The event, a Wild West themed Kareoke evening was held at Wickersley Cricket Club on 27 February and included a charity auction with many items donated from a number of local sporting celebrities and local businesses. This in combination with a donation from Wickersley Old Village Cricket Club helped raise £3,000 on the evening. Alexander’s step mum, Julie, was then able to have the donation matched by her employer, HSBC, raising the total to an amazing £6,000. The money was split equally between BCRT and TCT. With Alexander himself suffering from osteosarcoma, the work of BCRT was particularly close to his heart and whilst much fun was had by all on the evening, the great generosity of those that had donated items and the many people bidding for items auctioned made the event truly memorable.

Sadly, Alexander passed away on March 13th 2010, only three weeks after the event, but his enthusiasm for life and commitment to support BCRT lives on with his many friends, who have since taken part in many events in aid of BCRT in Alexander’s memory.

•  Natalie Riggall’s Charity Auction and Sing Along – 22nd October 2009

Bistro Live in Leicester city centre played host to Natalie Riggall and many of her friends, family and work colleagues on Thursday 22 October, helping to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Natalie was compelled to hold the event after her son was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma following 8 months of complaining to his doctor.

The event was a vibrant and colourful affair with a 60s inspired theme, giving people the opportunity to let their hair done and showcase their favourite retro dance moves. Natalie was very pleased that so many people came to the event and showed their support for the cause, including Sam and Andy from Heart FM and Nick Mullins from the BBC. During the auction and festivities people dug deep into their pockets and raised around £3,000 for the charity. Thank you to Natalie and all those who attended the event for helping us to continue to provide support to those affected by Bone Cancer.

•  Adam Panther Charity Fund – October 2009

After Adam Panther’s death in May 2007, aged just 19, his friends and family decided that they wanted to raise money for Bone Cancer Research in his memory. Two of his friends Ben and Dave set up a promotions company named ‘Panther Promotions’ and continue to organise many gigs with the proceeds going to the charity.

A collection of recent actions being taken by Adam’s friends, family and girlfriend have helped to raise a fantastic £6,000! This included charitable donations, competing in the Run for Life and the selling of a highly sought after piece of musical memorabilia. The Gibson Les Paul Custom 68 Special was kindly donated by Adam’s friend Johnny, which contributed around £4,000 to the total. Bone Cancer Research is very thankful to all of Adam’s friends and family for their continuing support and involvement with the charity.

•  Nigel Brookwell Cycle Ride – 17th October 2009

On 17th October 2009, Nigel Brookwell a friend of Tim Carvell’s set off from his Wigan home and cycled north to the very tip of Lancashire - all the way to Silverdale in fact (gateway to the Lake District). This epic was about 65 miles. He raced the clock to get the job done in 3 hours and twenty minutes. He went through quite a few pain barriers to do it this fast but was determined to raise as much as he could in aid of the Bone Cancer Trust in memory of Jenny Carvell. Apparently he didn't even stop at one bacon butty van along the way! Total Amount Raised in donations £547.50. A huge thank you to Nigel for his continued support and amazing achievement. •  Royal Parks Half Marathon – 11th October 2009

On a cool, but mainly dry October Sunday morning, 100 fantastic BCRT supporters donned their BCRT running vests and took part in the 2nd Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of BCRT. Along with 10,000 other runners, Team Bones runners took in some great sights of London and enjoyed running through the beautiful Royal Parks, Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens as they completed the 13.1 mile course. With over £30,000 raised so far, it has again proved to be a great success for BCRT, especially with 100 people running in our new BCRT Running Vests, helping to raise awareness of primary bone cancer and BCRT!

•  Birmingham Half Marathon – 11th October 2009

John and Elaine O’Sullivan and Penny Burnett took part in the Birmingham Half Marathon in memory of John and Elaine’s niece, Claudia Burnand, who died from Ewing’s sarcoma in 2006, aged just 15. They all completed the run despite the final two miles being uphill! With the help of family and friends cheering them on with bcrt balloons and banners they were able to struggle on until the end. Congratulations!

•  Wetherby to Filey Cycle Ride – 1st October 2009

On 1st October, Trudi Materna, Johnathon Gledhill, Dominic Brown, Julian Materna and Sarah Clough who, in their own words are:- Two self confessed fat knackers (not for long though, if we keep training), one secret weapon (he has strong legs, a healthy BMI and an intimate knowledge of tea-and-cake-shops en route), a man with one arm (he has one arm and attitude!) and a very fit young lady who might give our secret weapon a run for his money...

...cycled from Wetherby to Filey with the aim of raising money for BCRT. Julian was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2008, and as part of his treatment had his left arm amputated. This hasn’t stopped him from continuing his favourite activity, mountain biking. To support Julian, his wife Trudi, and friends Johnathon, Sarah and Dominic took to the saddle to take part in what to them was a great challenge, cycling 56 miles from Wetherby to Filey. They completed the ride in under 10 hours which is a great achievement, especially as it included a few stops for tea and cakes on the way. Between them, they have raised nearly £2,300.

•  The Chess Valley Walk – 20th September 2009

The Third Chess Valley Walk took place on the 20th September and raised £1,016. They had a wonderful day, the sun shone and over 35 people and several dogs joined The Heathcote family for the occasion.

Setting off from Westwood Park in Little Chalfont, the walkers followed the river Chess through the beautiful countryside. Stopping to buy fresh watercress on the way, the party reached The Boot Inn at Sarratt and enjoyed a restful lunch in the pub garden. The return walk took a different route through fields and over styles, until a tired but happy group arrived back at the car park in the mid afternoon.

•  Kilimanjaro Challenge – 16th to 24th September 2009

Karen Curtet, and Ben and Maddie Wheeldon took on the challenge of a lifetime to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free standing mountain. After months of training, they successfully made the summit having raised over £10,000 towards our work. What a fantastic achievement!

•  London to Paris Cycle Ride - 9th to 13th September 2009

Umesh Patel took to the roads on his bike between 9th and 13th September and cycled the 320 miles from London to Paris and raised over £1,600 fro BCRT. Umesh has shared his experiences, and would recommend the challenge to anyone!

I set off with 129 other riders on 9th September at 8am from croydon, heading for Dover. For me, this was the hardest day. The UNDULATING slopes of the North downs really got me into submission. I managed 83 miles on the first day, before the support vehicle picked me up for the last 7 miles, as I would have missed the ferry otherwise. The rest of the days, I was in much better shape. Slept well, ate well, Stretched lots, massaged the muscles lots (Funny how ibuprofen/neurofen became every rider's best friend for the 4 days !!!).

Successfully finished the ride at the Eiffel tower on Saturday 12th at around 5PM. I managed to cycle a total of 312 Miles in the 4 days. All the way, I had a speaker attached to the back of my rucksack, so I had surround sound and had a play list of more than 500 tracks to keep me going. I was labelled the 'music man', by the other riders....... I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met wonderful people. I would defo recommend this to anyone. (We even had a 75 year old man, who managed to finish the ride too. He was an inspiration to us all. In total there were 130 riders, representing 60 different charities and collectively we raised around £180,000 for the different charities.

Would I do it again??? - already looking for a new challenge, maybe a longer ride !!!

•  Great Scottish Run – 6th September 2009

Paul Duncan and Stephen Johnstone took part in the Great Scottish run on Sunday 6th September in memory of Stephen’s sister, Samantha, who died from Ewing’s sarcoma in April this year, aged 22. Paul and Stephen have raised over £1,400 towards our work. They had a great run, completing the 10K in just over an hour!

•  Gloucester to Bolton Abbey Tractor Drive – 4th to 6th September 2009

Fiona Whitaker and Lorna Mitchell travelled the 220 miles from Fairford to Bolton Abbey on a vintage Grey Ferguson Tractor in memory of Ross Whitaker, who died of Ewing’s sarcoma in 2007, aged 24. Fiona, Ross’s sister, and Lorna, his best friend, completed the challenge on the 60 year old tractor with a top speed of just 10mph between 4th and 6th September. Their journey finished at the cricket ground at Bolton Abbey where family and friends had gathered to welcome them and celebrate their achievements at the same time as remembering Ross, who had lived in the North Yorkshire village. They have raised over £5,000 towards the work of BCRT!

•  Fancy Dress Bar Crawl – 15th August 2009

For the second year running, Laura Gavin and Kayleigh McMillan organised a fancy dress bar crawl from Runcorn to Frodsham in support of Laura’s brother, Paul Gavin. Collecting from pub to pub in their fantastic costumes, they collected over £600 towards our work.

•  Charity Football Tournaments - 2nd and 26th August 2009

Football tournaments were organised in both Leeds and Hull in support of Matt Woollias who is currently undergoing treatment for Ewing’s sarcoma. Matt’s friend, David Mills organised the event in Hull between Matt’s former football team, reformed especially for the match, and a team made up of Matt’s family and friends. The other event was organised by Matt’s brother, Phil, at British Gas in Leeds who had also raised money through various events during Awareness Week. So far they have raised over £4,000 towards our work, very many thanks to all of Matt’s family and friends for their support.

•  Run for All York 10K – 2nd August 2009

Family and friends of Guy Francis were thrilled when it was announced that there was to be a Jane Tomlinson 10k Run for All in York on August 2nd 2009. It was a great day with the sun shining as the beautiful route took almost 5,000 runners along the riverside, past the Minster and back to the racecourse. Our team of 25 were delighted to be cheered on by enthusiastic groups of supporters around the route with BCRT banners, balloons and very loud voices! Well done to our runners who all achieved the distance within a wide variation of times! Very many thanks to everyone who joined in, in any way to remember Guy, to raise awareness of bone cancer and to raise funds towards research.

•  Ironman Switzerland – 12th July 2009

Inspired by his mum, Kay, who was treated for osteosarcoma when he was young, and also by Rose Allocca, aged 7 who has recently completed treatment for osteosarcoma, and has a blog which we have a link to from this website. Ben Hylton, a 3rd year medical student in Leeds, decided to take on the challenge of the Ironman in Switzerland. This involved a 2.4 mile swim, 112 miles cycle ride followed by a full marathon run! Ben completed the event in 10 hrs and 46 mins, finishing a fantastic 8th in his age group, and 624th overall (out of over 2,000 athletes)! Congratulations to Ben on completing such a gruelling challenge in support of our work and for raising over £1,500 towards our work.

•  London to Paris Cycle Ride – 1st to 5th July 2009

Colin Rafter took part in the ever popular London to Paris cycle ride, cycling 485km over 3 days.

Day 1: 175km route away from the Hampton Court through Kent, ‘the Garden of England’, arriving at Dover for the afternoon ferry crossing to Calais.  Riders will tackle the short sharp ascents of Capel le Fern and Goudhurst Hill, the latter being familiar to race fans as a King of the Mountains climb in the 2007 Tour de France.

Day 2: 157km route as the event swings north east toward the famous cobbles of Paris-Roubaix, cycling’s ‘Hell of the North’.  Includes the challenging, rolling roads of the Collines l’Artois before arrival at Amiens.

Day 3: 153km leaves Amiens and winds south to Paris in the true spirit of the Tour de France, rolling into the capital, past the Arc de Triomphe and ending at the Eiffel Tower, a fitting spot at which to end the challenge of the 2009 London-Paris Cycle Tour.

Colin joined the race on his own, but quickly realised how friendly everyone was and felt very welcome by the whole group. Colin said "the organisation of this event was second to none, I cannot fault the support team one bit, the cycle route was always obvious, the water stops and breaks were well placed, the support van never far away and the food was quite honestly delicious!"

•  Virgin team Bake a Cake for Bone Cancer – 25th June 2009

You'd think it a joke if your boss asked you to raise £2.5 million for charity in the lead up to The London Marathon year, wouldn't you? Well, this was no joking matter for one of our Trustees, John Dealey, who is part of the Virgin Management team doing their bit and raising £85,000 towards the target, which will split between various children's charities, including The Adam Dealey Foundation (supporting BCRT).

The competition was high with teams stirring, whipping, mixing and beating furiously in order to be the winning team. The hard work paid off for 'Unite Mission Possible Team', who won with their pink and white trainer-style cakes.

The day had a serious side also, as John spoke about The Adam Dealey Foundation, BCRT's Awareness Week, and bone cancer in general. John was extremely pleased with people's interest in the charities and also their enthusiasm and the effort they put into the baking, he said: "It amazes me as to how generous the team are – they give their time and put a lot of passion and energy into every event we do. With this start the £2.5 million is definitely mission possible!"

•  Land’s End to John O’Groats Cycle Ride – 22nd June 2009

On June 22nd 2009, Dr Stephen Griffin and Dr Cameron Wilson, with Andrew Griffin as their support driver set off on an epic cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats. It took them 1013 miles and 13 days through towns, villages and countryside. The aim of the ride was to raise money and awareness for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, and so far their efforts, along with fantastic support from their friends, family and the whole community in which they live organising and taking part in numerous fundraising events, have raised an amazing £24,000.

•  Leeds 10K Run for All – 21st June 2009

On Sunday 21st June 2009, 50 runners took part in this year’s Run for All, Leeds 10K. The event originally started by the inspirational Jane Tomlinson. Over 7,500 runners took part in the event this year, and our runners helped us to raise awareness of bone cancer and BCRT at the same time as raising vital funds towards our work. Thank you very much to all of our runners and also to their supporters who have donated and cheered on the day.

•  Coast to Coast Cycle Ride – 18th to 20th June 2009

Jackie, Nathan and Gary Woods, along with friends, Danny and James have completed the Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge. They headed for the hills and conquered them, covering the 150 mile trip in 15 hours over three days. They were riding and raising money in support of their friend, Lesley, who is currently undergoing treatment for bone cancer at Newcastle General Hospital.

They cycled through torrential rain and ended up looking like drowned rats by the end of the challenge – but the fact that so many people had supported them with their generosity, helping them to raise over £1,600, kept them going on the 1903 ft climb to Hartside, and through Carrigill, the highest point on the route.

•  Rutland Cycle Ride – 6th June 2009

Sharon Moult, who was diagnosed with chondosarcoma in 2008, organised a sponsored cycle ride around Rutland Water. With over 30 people taking part, covering varying distances, Sharon, along with her friends and family had a great day, and although it was very windy, the rain stayed away. They have raised over £2,000 between them. Adrian, Sharon’s husband, has been inspired by this to continue raising money and is taking part in the Robin Hood (Nottingham) Half Marathon, The Great North Run and also the Royal Parks Half Marathon, all within a month!

•  Flora Dublin Mini Marathon – 1st June 2009

Catherine Feely and four of her friends took part in the Flora Dublin Mini Marathon on 1 June running the 10K race in support of BCRT. They raised a fantastic £1,269 towards our work as they joined over 40,000 other women taking part in this fantastic run through the centre of Dublin.

•  Belgium to Berlin Cycle Challenge – 15th to 17th May 2009

Six teams of four people took on the Belgium to Berlin Cycle Challenge between 15 and 17 May cycling 560 miles in relay from Ghent to Berlin in just three days.   The three days started in Ghent, Belgium, from where they travelled through Holland and into Germany through National Parks and rolling hills towards the final destination of Berlin. It was an exhausting weekend, with some cyclists cover over 100 miles each day, but everyone made it to the end with a great sense of achievement in both finishing the challenge and with the knowledge that they had raised a fantastic amount of money for BCRT. Thank you to all participants for your efforts over the weekend and in preparing for the challenge.

•  Century Cycle Challenge – 2nd May 2009

Paul Ashberry and three friends, Mark, Mathew and Michael took on the century cycle challenge in aid of BCRT, also in honour of Ella Ashberry-Sharp. The four cyclists completed the challenge, a 103 mile cycle ride from Leicestershire to Norfolk where they enjoyed a well earned drink, a rugby match and a weekend of camping!

So far, a fantastic £12,000 has been raised by the various events that have been organised by Ella’s family and friends. There are plenty more events planned. More details of upcoming events will be available on our upcoming events section as they are planned.

•  Fundraising in honour of Ella Ashberry-Sharp – April 2009

Ella was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in November 2008, aged 10. Unfortunately, Ella’s body failed to respond to treatment and sadly, after a courageous battle, Ella died on Sunday 25th January. Since then Ella’s family and friends have been raising funds and awareness through a whole variety of events.

A recent one was the Leicestershire Round Sponsored Walk. Over 100 people, mainly children and young adults took part in a ten day, 115 miles circular walk during the Easter holidays. 6 people including children Chris and Martha completed the whole 115 miles with others joining on other days, with most covering over 40 miles. The group walked in all weathers, and some even wore ridiculous costumes to add to the fun they all had.

•  All in a day’s work for the BCRT London Marathon runners – 26th April 2009

It was never going to be easy, running 26.2 miles around the streets of London, but it was made even worse for brave Phil Davies, Terry and Ann Kavanagh by the beating sun and the array of injuries between them.

The successful running team was put through their paces in memory of Jennifer Carvell and though the final sponsorship total hasn’t been counted, they’re positive it’s going to be well-worth the pain! Jennifer’s Mum, Lin Carvell, commented: “Our fantastic runners completed in the most unbearable conditions, the heat was too much, so all in all we’re very proud of them all”.

•  Andy’s Angels shine as Stuart Pendred completes the Newham 10k – 19th April 2009

Close friend of Andy Greig, Stuart Pendred completed the first Newham 10k on Sunday 19th April in the impressive time of 48 minutes and 28 seconds.

The unique route took the runners through the Olympic village, Stuart commented on this by saying: "I was really happy with my time, especially as I was 188th out of 1300 people. It was amazing to run through the village and see the stadium going up for the 2012 Games".

Stuarts success just adds to what’s already been completed by Andy’s Angels and one thing’s for sure, it won’t be the last!

•  Ewings Walk – 4th and 5th April 2009

The Ewing’s Walk took place on the 4th and 5th of April 2009 in the picturesque countryside of North Yorkshire, just a stone's throw away from Harrogate.

The walk comprised of a figure of eight circuit of the Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs, which is a total of 8 miles or 12.5km. Participants walked the circuit as many times as they wanted up to 100 km. Most walkers opted for 25km, 50km, 75km or 100km!

Ten Teams took part raising money for a number of different children’s and cancer charities, and in all over 100 walkers took part all supporting Triya Mistry, aged 6, who was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma in April 2008 . Four teams raised money for Bone Cancer Research Trust and between them have so far raised nearly £6,000 towards our work.

•  Parbold Hill Race – 14th February 2009

Joe Davies has raised £2,210 in memory of his brother, Paul, who died in 2003 from osteosarcoma. In 1999, before his diagnosis in 2001, Paul ran his local race, the Parbold Hill Race, covering a distance of 6.75 miles over road, track, fields and lots of mud and climbing, finishing in 57 minutes.

This year, Joe, Paul’s brother has taken part in the same race in memory of Paul, and finished in 64 minutes. Joe received fantastic support from people in the village, friends, family and work colleagues who all helped in helping Joe to smash his original fundraising target of £1,000.

•  Sponsored Swim – 30th January 2009

Year 1 and Year 2 swimmers from Dulwich College took part in a sponsored swim in support of Rose Allocca. The swim was organised by Tayo Davy who recently jumped out of a plane for BCRT and along with Calvin Haggis has so far raised over £15,000! Sponsor money from the swim is being counted, so watch this space to find out how much was raised...

•  New Year's Day Swim – 1st January 2009

Every year Leah Williams and her cousin Zoe Williams (pictured) take part in the New Year’s Day swim at Saundersfoot, West Wales and normally they donate their sponsor monies to Cancer Research.

During December 2008 a large tumour was found on Laura’s brother’s knee, which at first was suspected to be cancerous. Ben was transferred to the Birmingham Royal Hospital, where fortunately it was diagnosed as a Giant Cell Tumor, which has now been removed and he is in recovery.

Ben’s Dad, Mark Williams, told us 'Given the situation we found ourselves in at this time, generous friends and family offered up over £450 in sponsorship to the girls swim this year. Incidentally, it was estimated to be approximately minus 4 degrees centigrade on the beach that day, they must all be nuts.' Nuts indeed! What a fantastic effort girls, well done from all at BCRT!

•  Longridge field day Committee goes ga-ga for their pram race – 26th December 2008

	Longridge residents had to look twice on Boxing Day of last year, as driving past them, at some pace were prams containing oversized passengers in the most outrageous of outfits. They needn’t had worried though, it was only the Longridge Field Day Committee in full swing of their pram race in support of Anna Griffin. The energetic group raised over £1,600, which was proudly presented to Anna’s Dad at the night celebrations. Organiser, Diane Lovatt, said: “It was the most fantastic day; participants really went to town with the outfits. I mean to see the ‘Cool Running’s’ team come over the finishing line in dreads and Rasta hats was just hilarious”.
